“Mafia in Sicily is defeated” said Palermo Mayor Leoluca Orlando to Dr. Michael Scheele, CEO of Legal Alliance at a recent conference in Palermo. Dr. Scheele was guest speaker at an international lawyers conference in the capital of Sicily.

Mayor Leoluca, a former attorney at law in Italy, highlighted the successful efforts in the fight against the Mafia when he addressed some 130 lawyers from 80 countries at the conference of the AEA International lawyers Network in Palermo. Dr. Michael Scheele, CEO of the Munich based “Legal Alliance” boutique law firm, who was invited to represent Germany, had the opportunity to present benefits and advantages of engaging a small boutique law firm rather than a big law firm with no more lawyers. Since 2008 the boutique law firms have maintained, if not increased a competitive edge in a number of fields e. g. regarding cross border transactions.
